Utilising creative techniques and therapeutic play, a Play Therapist helps children express themselves, work towards understanding their emotions and thoughts, and make sense of their life experiences. I provide Child Mental Health support in an accepting and safe environment where children are helped to develop increased self-awareness and have the freedom to explore and process their emotions and any difficulties impacting on them. Materials used includes dolls, miniature animals, paint, sensory toys, sand and water beads to aid children's process.
Play therapy provides an enjoyable space where children can explore and comprehend their emotions through play within an accepting therapeutic relationship. I use sensory materials as it is evidenced to help with emotional regulation as well as helping to repair negative experiences. I have 25 years experience in working with children and families.
